Paper submission and presentation

For the Young Engineers Colloquium 2023, we are looking for young engineers and PhD students under 35 years of age from the civil engineering community, who would like to present their student projects, PhD research or construction projects.

The presentations can be in a form of a summary of a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis or a research study, which is a part of a research project at an academic institution. We also highly encourage presentations on interesting projects from the engineering practice in the scope of design and construction.

Authors interested in presenting their work should submit a two-page paper including a short CV. The papers should contain a brief impression of the work. Particularly, the participants from the engineering practice should explain their personal contribution and some of the biggest challenges that they have experienced in context of the project. All of the submitted manuscripts should be written in English.

A template for the two-page paper is given below, including a guide for authors and examples of tables and figures.

Based on the submitted manuscript, the scientific committee will make a selection of contributions that will be presented as part of the Young Engineers Colloquium 2023. The presenting time for each selected contribution is from 10 up to 15 minutes and the presenting language should be English. A submission of a detailed manuscript describing the project is not required. Further information regarding the presentation format will be given by the organizing committee after the selection process.

The best prezentations will be awarded with prizes valued up to 1000 EUR!

We are looking forward to your participation!

The manuscripts should be submitted via e-mail to YEC2023(at)iabse.de.
